A PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD AND COUNCIL WILL DISCUSS AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION ON THE FOLLOWING AGENDA.  THE COUNCIL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO RETIRE INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION CONCERNING ANY OF THE ITEMS LISTED ON THE AGENDA WHENEVER IT IS CONSIDERED NECESSARY AND LEGALLY JUSTIFIED UNDER THE OPEN MEETING ACT, CHAPTER 551, TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE.

Public Forum:  Members of the public are invited to speak during Public Forum on items that are not on the City Council Agenda.  Comments regarding agenda items shall be held until the agenda item is being discussed and the presiding officer calls for comments from the public.  Comments during Public Forum are limited to 3 minutes per speaker.

     OLD BUSINESS: ITEMS TABLED FROM PREVIOUS MEETING:

  1. Discuss and take action on a Resolution approving Interlocal Agreement between the City of El Paso and the Town of Clint for Public Health Services – Mayor Cano

 

      NEW BUSINESS: Town Council will discuss and take action on the following:

  1. Presentation: Recognizing Community Achievements. Recognition of Anna G. Muela for her induction into the Association of Texas Small School Bands, Hall of Fame and being named the first woman and first Junior High director to accomplish this achievement – Mayor Pro-Tem Rose Hernandez
  2. Discuss and take action on a presentation and request for annexation by Athena West residents and authorizing the Mayor to begin the process of determining next steps – Mayor Cano / Town Attorney
  3. Discuss updates on Town Financial Audits for Fiscal Years 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 – Alderman Dino Coronado
  4. Discuss and take action on replacing/hiring Town financial Auditor – Alderman Dino Coronado
  5. Discuss and take action to authorize the Mayor to sign a Resolution approving the submission of a Grant Application for Operation Stonegarden Grant Program OPSG 2025 to the Office of the Governor and designate the Mayor as the Authorized Official with the authority to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant – Chief of Police Robert Fernandez
  6. Discuss and take action to create an Ordinance reinstating separate Planning & Zoning Commission – Alderman Addam Hernandez
  7. Discuss and take action to establish a Town Hiring Committee responsible for reviewing, screening and recommending candidates for all new Town employee positions – Alderman Dino Coronado
  8. Discuss and take action on clarifying duties and responsibilities of Mayor Pro Tem position – Alderman Addam Hernandez
  9. Discuss and take possible action regarding a review and revision of the Police Department salary schedule – Alderman Dino Coronado
  10. Discuss and take action to approve a Resolution approving a Separation Agreement Between the Town of Clint and Officer Angel Turrubiartes – Mayor Cano

 

Executive Session:  The Town Council will retire in executive session pursuant to sections 551.071-551.076, -Texas Government Code, to discuss any of the following:

The City Council of the Town of Clint may recess into EXECUTIVE SESSION pursuant to the Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, Subchapter D, under Article 551.071 – Consultation with Attorney; 551.072 – Deliberation Regarding Real Property 551.073 – Deliberation Regarding Gifts and Donations; 551.074 – Personnel Matters; 551.076 – Deliberation Regarding Security Devices and 551.087 – Deliberation Regarding Economic Development
