- Discuss and take action on process for annexation by Athena West residents and determine next steps – Mayor Cano/Town Attorney Desiree Duarte
NEW BUSINESS: Town Council will discuss and take action on the following:
- Presentation: Recognize and Honor the Veterans of the Town of Clint for their years of service and contribution including maintenance of the Veterans Park and Presentation of an appreciation plaque – Mayor Pro Tem Rose Hernandez
- Presentation and Reading of a Proclamation declaring the week of May 3, 2026, as Municipal Clerks Week in the Town of Clint to honor and thank Susie Rodriguez, Town Clerk, for her ongoing dedication, knowledge and tireless service – Mayor Cano
- Discuss and take action to approve an Ordinance of the Town Council of the Town of Clint, Texas Repealing Ordinance No. 161 and Reinstating the Town Planning and Zoning Commission; and Providing for the Following : Findings of Fact; Repealer; Severability; Effective Date; and Proper Notice and Meeting – Mayor Cano
- Discuss and take action to approve issuing a Request for Qualifications for engineering services – Alderman Addam Hernandez
- Discuss and take action to approve a Resolution of the Town Council of the Town of Clint, Texas establishing a Town Hiring Committee responsible for reviewing, screening and recommending candidates for all new Town employee positions – Alderman Dino Coronado
- Discuss updates on Town financial audits – Alderman Dino Coronado
- Discuss updates on the implementation of policies and procedures that the Town financial auditors suggested – Alderman Addam Hernandez
- Discuss and take action to approve applying for the FY26 Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant and hiring a grant writer – Alderman Dino Coronado
- Discuss and take action on a Resolution authorizing the Mayor to sign a letter to allow the Bojorquez Law Firm to represent both the Town of Clint and Horizon City with regard to an Interlocal Agreement for Vector Control Services – Mayor Cano
- Discuss and take action to approve a Resolution authorizing the Mayor to sign an Interlocal Agreement with Horizon City for Vector Control Services – Mayor Cano
- Discuss and take action to approve a Resolution authorizing the purchase of 3 Police Unit In Car Rugged laptops and installation from Peace Maker Technologies, Quote #QT-000647. Quote obtained using Sourcewell Cooperative Agreement – Chief Robert Fernandez/Sgt. Alfredo Luevano
- Discuss and take action to approve a Resolution adopting Budget Amendment No. 3, amending the Municipal Budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 to provide funding for Vector Control Services, Annual Audit Fees and Mobile Computer Equipment for police units – Mayor Cano
- Discuss updates on Bicycle Safety Route Program – Alderman Adan Ruiz
- Discuss updates on Daybright Insurance for Town employees – Alderman Dino Coronado
- Discuss and take action on the following Clint Police Department personnel changes:
- Discuss and take action to accept resignation of Robert Fernandez from the position of Chief of Police, authorize transfer to the position of Sergeant, and determine effective date and related matters.
- Discuss and take action to appoint Alfedo Luevano to the position of Interim Chief of Police and determine effective date and related matters.
- Discuss and take action to determine procedures and timeline for hiring Chief of Police.
The Town Council reserves the right to recess into executive session pursuant to Tex. Gov’t Code Sec. 551.071 (Consultation with Attorney) and Sec. 551.074 (Personnel Matters).
Executive Session: The Town Council will retire in executive session pursuant to sections 551.071-551.076, -Texas Government Code, to discuss any of the following:
